I'm not dead! Recent Purchases, Updates & Plans

Hello there! Firstly, I must apologize for being AWOL for so long - I'm sorry. Uni is very hectic at the moment and all my deadlines are fast approaching, eeek! I keep meaning to do posts but I've putting this last which has meant I never get round to writing anything. I miss it! So i'm making change, I'm going to try to post at least once a week WITHOUT FAIL! If i can fit a 2nd or even 3rd (might be pushing it there) post in the week then I will :) Hopefully I can go back to more posts once we reach June since uni will be done by then! Yayyy :D

Recent Purchases & Plans

Left-right: Revlon ColourStay Foundation  for Oily/Combination Skin, Revlon PhotoReady Concealer, Revlon Lipstick in Pink Sizzle, Model's Own Nail Polish in Freak Out! & Boogie Nights, Rimmel 60 Seconds Polish in Funtime Fuschia, Model's Own Polish in Snow White, Turquoise Gloss & Snowflakes, Topshop Nail Polish in AWOL (how fitting!) & Model's Own Nail Polish in Naked Glow

As you can see i've gone a bit crazy with beauty products lately, especially nail polish! I don't even like nail polish that much! :') aha but none the less, I took full advantage of the Model's Own '6 for £20' offer and there's a '3 for 2' offer on all Revlon at boots, next on my list are some of those gorgeous-looking matte balms!
I've also got a couple of skincare products hidden away that I want to review for you guys. So my plan is to review at least one product a week, alternating between nail polishes and something else. Obviously if i could do two a week, one nail polish and one other product that would be great but it all depends on how my uni work goes, gotta put that first after all. I may group the revlon products into one post we'll see.
Anyway, hope you're all as excited for the upcoming reviews as I am! If anyone still reads this thing that is :') aha

Talk to you again soon hopefully!

Guest Post: Holly's Spring/Summer Nail Polish Picks

A couple of weeks ago, I posted this interview with Holly from 'Holly La Beau', along with promises of impending guest posts. Well that time has come (wooooo) and here are some of Holly's top nail polishes for spring and summer. I'm pretty much in love with all of these colours, but ‘Caliente Coral’ looks especially summery.

Spring/summer is all about the pastels and the brights, as I am sure you are aware. There is no better way to wear this trend than to sport it on your nails! I am a massive fan of wearing pastel colours on my nails and have two full boxes of them to prove it. I have picked out my ten favourite colours for the coming season for you all to see. Sorry for the horrible, yellow stained nails in these pictures, I’m not allowed to wear nail polish to work (sob) as I have a job in a restaurant so I have had to subject poor, innocent people to the aftermath of orange nail polish recently. I feel sorry for them.

This is the perfect lilac colour for wearing on your nails. Surprisingly, it goes with a lot of outfits. Ciate is a really good, relatively cheap brand and this polish glides on like a dream.

This was my first ever Essie purchase and it is what made me want to go back and buy more. While it does go on a little bit sheer and needs three coats for maximum coverage, it looks divine once it has been built up. Really chip resistant too.

Now this is what you call value for money - £1.99 for 15ml of gorgeous nail polish! It doesn’t last quite as long on your nails as more expensive polishes do but it sure is better than what you expect for that price! This is so bright and pretty – this picture does not do it justice. Click here to see my post from a while back about the rest of my Sinful Colors nail polishes for a full review where I wasn’t as rushed taking the pictures so you can see the colour a lot better.

The much anticipated release of YouTube beauty guru/blogger Tanya Burr’s lip and nail collection lived up to my high expectations. This is my favourite nail polish at the moment and since taking these pictures, I have painted my nails with it because I have a few days off work. Keep an eye out this week for some pictures on my blog of it on my nails!

So. Damn. Pretty. It is actually a lot brighter than what this makes it out to be so I recommend checking the Nails Inc website because the photo over there is really close to how it looks in person. This is definitely a true summer shade. Nails Inc is my favourite nail brand of all time and, at £11 each, is slightly more expensive but well worth the money.

I bought this when I was in America last year and have been in love with it ever since. It claims it is a coral colour. It is not. It is most certainly orange, there is no denying it. Who knew bright orange nails would look so good?! This is currently on my toenails but I didn’t think you would want a picture of my fat sausages for toes to put you off your dinner for the rest of the week so I very kindly left that out. You’re welcome.

No point in saying very much about this since the formula is exactly like to other one from this brand. Yellow isn’t a colour that many people like to wear on their nails but I think this nice pale pastel one is very pretty indeed.

The exact same colour as Tiffany boxes. Need I say more?

A slightly strange colour to wear on your nails but it turns out a lot nicer than you expect. It’s a funny green colour which I didn’t think I would like but surprisingly, I do.

The name of this just tops it all off. How cute! This has a lovely shimmer to it and, as cheesy as it sounds, reminds me of the sea. Very beach-esque.

I hope you like my nail polish picks. The majority of photos are pretty crap because I was in a rush when I was taking them but you can make out the colour for the most part. The websites that I have linked to are all very close to the actual colour which gives you a good representation, especially the Tanya Burr one.

What do you like to wear on your nails in the summer? I need some ideas (as if I don’t own enough nail polishes already).

Spring/Summer 2014 Accessories & Footwear Wishlist

I love how structured this bag is, i think it would work with casual as well as smart outfits. I know black isn't very summery but i've been after a small, simple, black bag for so long because it's just a great basic that I think every girl needs. I also love the concertina style of this - it has so many pockets!

I think these are so cute and summery. I'm not usually a big fan of wedges, but i always find myself drawn to them around summer. I love the clean, cream color but i would be so wary of getting these dirty, i'd probably never leave the house in them! aha

I really like the metal trim on this bag. The color's a lot more summery than black yet i still think you could get away with it all year round. Again, i think it's the type of bag that would work with both smart and casual outfits, and if the strap is detachable (i'm not sure if it is) you could even use it as a clutch.

4) New Look Orange Jelly Sandals - £9.99
I've almost bought jelly sandals for the past 2 summers, but for some reason I always put it off, i don't know why. Anyway, this summer i'm determined to treat myself to some. I love this bright orange color and the price is super affordable. New Look stock this style in a total of 8 colors so there's something for everyone! :)

5) Boohoo Neon Pattern Clutch - £8
I think the pattern and colors on this are gorgeous! They give this clutch a more casual, fun feel which i really like.

6) Boohoo Block Heel Mint Jelly Sandals - £12
Jelly sandals again! I think i prefer this style to the New Look ones - I think the lift from the block heel would make the feet look smaller and cuter. I only wish they had more colors, although i do love this mint. They also stock black, white, nude & clear.

7) Topshop Green Concertina Bag - £25
Another small green bag! Aha sorry but i do love this one too, and i think it's slightly more minty than the New Look one. It's a concertina style again, which mean it has multiple pockets - something that i'm always a sucker for! I think it's a really nice size too, just a bit pricey.

8) Dixi Gold Amethyst Necklace - £20
This is such a pretty, and timeless necklace. I honestly think you could wear it with absolutely anything and it would never look out of place! It's definitely more of a summery piece, but i think it would look gorgeous in Autumn/Winter too.

9) Dixi Rose Gold Midi Ring - £8
I love this simple midi ring, i think it's really pretty and would add a bit of detail to any outfit, day or night.

10) ASOS Rope Chain Gold Hoop Earrings - £8
I've really got a craving for some hoop earrings at the moment! I think, if worn right, they can look really sporty and cool. I love the thick, rope chain style of these from ASOS.

11) Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Mischievous - £7.99
I've heard countless positive reviews about these ColorBurst Matte Balms by Revlon and i'm dying to get my hands on them! From the swatches i've seen online, i think my current favorite is 'mischievous'. It's a really wearable orangey peach color and, from what i've seen, can either been worn fairly sheer, or built for a more statement lip.

12) Dixi Poison Box Ring - £32
I know £32 is a little extortionate for a ring but this one is so beautiful and unusual. Keeping it on my wishlist incase the opportunity for an 'Easter present' comes up! aha
